MOBIUS & The Colorado Alliance
MOBIUS and the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries began sharing materials through our mutual InnReach Systems in August, 2014.
The Alliance manages a union catalog, using Innovative Interface's InnReach system, called Prospector. Prospector has over 45 academic, public and special libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. This gives MOBIUS libraries access to more than 33 million items including audio-visual materials. The Alliance libraries have access to the 27 million items on the MOBIUS Union Catalog and are able to place holds directly on our catalog. Holdings are not loaded onto either union catalog. A new piece of software from Innovative called Peer-to-Peer connects the two union catalogs for resource sharing purposes. Both organizations are abiding by each others' loan rules.
We are very excited about this collaboration and hope this new relationship will increase easy access to materials for you and your users!

Processing Prospector Transactions in Sierra
Prospector requests are processed and shipped like any other MOBIUS/INN-Reach transaction. Paging slips for Prospector items will print with your MOBIUS paging slips, the libraries are in the MOBIUS Label Maker, and you will use the same book bands that you use to send MOBIUS materials. Materials should also be shipped through the courier in MOBIUS shipping bags. All MOBIUS bags will be returned to MOBIUS through the courier system.
Receiving Prospector Materials
Prospector libraries do not ship materials in shipping bags. They band their books together with rubber bands, staple the routing slip to the rubber bands, and place them in a tote for the courier. Any materials sent from Prospector to MOBIUS libraries will be packaged this way.
The libraries in Colorado do not use the Pick-Up Anywhere (PUA) function.
Dealing With Lost or Damaged Items
If an item being loaned or borrowed through Prospector is damaged or lost, contact the MOBIUS office at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will take it from there. MOBIUS members should not contact Prospector libraries directly about lost or damaged items.
Borrowing Springer E-Books
The Colorado Alliance has an agreement with Springer allowing for Interlibrary Loan of their Springer eBook Collection. These eBooks have a status of AVAILABLE in the Prospector Catalog for libraries that have agreed to lend them, and can be requested by patrons the same way that any other material is requested.
Borrowing Center for Research Libraries (CRL) Materials
The Prospector catalog does include CRL records. CRL material is only available to another CRL member library. At present, only the University of Missouri-Columbia and Washington University are CRL members, so only the faculty and staff may request these materials.
