Job Summary

The Director of the Maryville University Library will be a team member involved in the reinvention and innovative transformation of the University Library as Maryville University’s active learning ecosystem continues to develop.  As plans for a major expansion in the building unfold, the director will assist in the planning of Maryville’s Innovation Center as the library continues to be a destination for all constituents.  

Guided by the University Strategic Plan and focusing on student learning through the use of innovative technology for information dissemination and discovery, the Director will be instrumental to the development and delivery of a cutting edge library of the future, always with a focus on our priority: Maryville students.  This includes the expansion of an automated library – 24/7.   

The Library Director has the administrative responsibility for all library resources, services and operations, and works collaboratively with all areas on campus to ensure the educational programs and resources of the library are a central core of the University.  The Library Director serves as a key partner, representing the Library within the university and to the external world. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students.
