St. Charles Community College names new president

Kavalier is currently district president of Narvarro College in Corsicana, Texas. She is expected to take over in St. Charles on Aug. 10.

Kavalier was one of four finalists selected after a four-month nationwide search. The board offered her the job on June 13; she accepted the offer on Wednesday.

She replaced Ron Chesbrough who is scheduled to start a new role as president of Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, N.Y., next month.

Pamela Cilek, board secretary and chairwoman of the presidential search committee, said Kavalier’s experience in college leadership and administration and her commitment to student success, innovation and community outreach make her the right fit.
