PT Library Assistant – Evening/Weekend Supervisor

Job Summary

Provide general reference and circulation assistance during evening and weekend hours and supervise the nightly closing of the library.  The Evening/Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for the circulation activities in the evenings, enforcing library policies, assisting students with library resources, closing the library, and supervising student workers. The Evening/Weekend Supervisor will assist in other library projects as needed.  This person will be required to work evenings and weekends.

  • Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College’s vision, mission and values, and contributes to the development of the J. W. and Lois Stafford Library Department.
  • Perform general reference and circulation assistance
  • Responsible for general library supervision and closing during evenings worked.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Practice superior customer service.
  • Display respect and civility to all constituencies regardless of method of communication.
  • Attend work timely and during the established hours of operation on a regular basis/ work additional hours as business necessitates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of study
  • Ability to work 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and Sunday 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. when classes are in session.
