Job Summary

Inman E. Page Library at Lincoln University seeks an innovative thinker with strong people skills to manage our Institutional Repository Blue Tiger Commons. This position reports to the Director of Library Services. The successful candidate will possess strong skills to plan, develop, implement, grow and maintain the Blue Tiger Commons by promoting, disseminating and providing services that support the long term curation of scholarly output in a range of media. The Institutional Repository Librarian will build excellent relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and students at the University as well as with peers at other institutions in support of the delivery of the Libraries’ scholarly communication services. This position will create policies, procedures, workflows and reports as needed. This position will also participate in library liaison services, reference, library instruction, and collection development

Responsibilities: 
The 12 month non-tenure track position will create, organize, promote, and curate digital materials. Provide training for the campus community to use IR resources. Promote the IR to faculty, administrators, staff, students, and broader LU community. support open access initiatives, intellectual property, data curation, and new form of publication and research/creative activities. Perform reference service, library instruction, and collection development. Serve as library liaison to designated departments. Teach Library Science minor program. Some weekend work required. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:
Required: Master of Library or Information Science degree form an ALA-accredited institution. One year experience working in an academic library. Familiarity with best practices in digital projects and digital preservation. Knowledge of relevant metadata standards such as Dublin Core, METS, and MODS. Basic knowledge of web page design, HTML, XML, and CSS Ability to work with with digital objects in various formats (text, image, audio, and/or video) Knowledge of emerging trends in digital scholarship, including open access, scholarly publishing and data management. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse community. 

Preferred: Familiarity with current copyright issues/rights management issues in a digital environment. Experience working with an institutional repository platform/software(Bepress preferred) Outreach experience and knowledge of marketing techniques. 

Salary $42,000
