Job Summary

The Cataloger and Metadata Specialist Librarian has primary responsibility for original and copy cataloging of library materials. The position is responsible for original cataloging for books, media, and government publications, and assigning metadata for state government publications.  The incumbent must also provide reference and information services to Missouri State government agencies, employees and the public, develop and maintain web pages and assist with outreach and training sessions.

Qualifications

Must have an earned Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.  Working knowledge of OCLC products and services is required.  Experience with technical services modules of Innovative Interface’s Sierra or other automated systems is strongly preferred.  Knowledge of automated library cataloging, metadata standards and authority control, such as Dewey Decimal Classification, MARC, LCSH, LC subject headings, RDA, LCNA, and SUDOC and MODOC classification. Experience using HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript or LibGuides for creating and maintaining web pages, and experience with metadata creation in a library setting, and Previous reference experience or work with government information is desired.

Salary:  $1,596-$1,654.50 Semimonthly
