Zinio and hoopla digital offer ample digital content for library patrons

The first product, hoopla digital, offers thousands of movies, television shows, music albums, eBooks, audiobooks and comics, all available for mobile and online access. Users can stream or temporarily download titles from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers, available to borrow 24/7.

The second new product, Zinio offers unlimited digital access to a wide selection of magazines. Users can download current and back issues of hundreds of the same popular magazines available in stores or by subscription. For magazine readers, it’s a convenient way to access the latest content without spending a dime.

Both Zinio and hoopla digital can be accessed through mobile apps by the same names. The apps are free to download on Android or iOS devices. Both products can also be accessed on computer by visiting the library’s website, christiancountylibrary.org and clicking on the hoopla and Zinio icons.

“We strive to be an integral resource for our community,” library director Geri Godber explained. “One way we do this is through strategic partnerships like our new relationships with hoopla digital and Zinio. Both of these products have easy-to-use interfaces, no late fees, and allow busy patrons to use some great library resources without having to constantly drive to the library or wait for the items they want to be returned.”

Patrons still have access to the library’s heavily used existing eBook lending services, including Missouri Libraries 2 Go for popular eBook and digital audiobook titles, EBSCO eBooks for thousands of eBooks on many research topics with no waiting, and Comics Plus, with a variety of comics and graphic novels for adults, teens and children.

A library card, free to all Christian County residents, is all that is required to use any of these products at no cost. Visit christiancountylibrary.org to get started, or call 417-581-2432 for more information.
