Discussion Lists
Available Lists
MOBIUS maintains several discussion lists for communicating information about the consortium and facilitating discussions among member libraries about various topics. These lists are hosted by Google Groups, but a Google account is not required to post or receive list emails.
MOBIUS Member Discussion Lists
MOBIUS Users (mobius-users-l) - General updates and announcements from MOBIUS including information about the annual conference, membership meetings, governance updates, new products and services, and more. This list is open to any staff member at a MOBIUS member library. Subscribers may post to the list.
MOBIUS Directors (mobius-l) - This list is open to library directors and voting members at member libraries only. Membership in this list is maintained by the MOBIUS staff.
Delivery (mob-delivery-L) - Use this list to request delivery bags and for general discussion related to the delivery system.
Site Coordinators (mobius-coordinators) - This list is exclusively for those serving as primary and secondary site coordinators at their libraries.
Digitization and Institutional Repository (mobius-digitization-ir) - This list is for those participating in the Hyku digitization and institutional repository project.
MOBIUS Open Educational Resources (mobius-oer) - General discussion about OER-related topics, including the MOBIUS OER Commons Hub and Open Education Network membership. This list is open to any staff member at a MOBIUS member library.
OverDrive Shared Collection (mobius-overdrive-l) - This list is open to any staff members at libraries that participate in the OverDrive Shared Collection.
Iowa Courier and E-Resources Lists
IA Shares Broadcast List (ia-shares) - Important updates and notices about the IA Shares service. This is a broadcast-only list and can not be replied to.
Iowa Courier (iowacourier) - This list is for participants in the Iowa Alliance courier system. Use this list to request delivery bags and for general discussion related to the delivery system.
Rivershare Courier (Rivershare) - This list is for participants in the Rivershare courier system. Use this list to request delivery bags and for general discussion related to the delivery system.
MOBIUS Iowa Academic Library Alliance (mobius-iala) - This list is for libraries participating in the MOBIUS partnership with the Iowa Academic Library Alliance to provide licensing support and discounts for e-resources and other services. Staff at any participating library are eligible to join.
Heartland Hub Discussion List
Heartland Hub Partners and Friends (hub-partners-friends) - MOBIUS maintains the mailing lists for the Heartland Hub, formerly Missouri Hub (MOHub). To learn more about the hub, please visit https://heartland-hub.org/
Instructions for Subscribing
To subscribe to any of these lists:
- Fill out the form below indicating any lists you would like to be added to. NOTE: You'll need to use an institutional/library email account to subscribe. This helps us make sure that only staff from MOBIUS member libraries are subscribing to the lists.
- After submitting the form, MOBIUS staff will review your request and add you to any discussion lists that you are eligible to join.
- After you are added to the requested lists, you will receive a welcome email and may then post and reply to discussions.
Viewing the Archives - List archives may be viewed in the Google Groups dashboard by creating a Google Account. Visit https://groups.google.com/ to create an account. An account is not required to participate in list discussions and receive list emails.
