Missouri's MOBIUS and Colorado's Prospector Announce Library Materials Sharing Agreement | Innovative

Emeryville, CA—MOBIUS and Prospector, the state-wide library consortia in Missouri and Colorado, have signed an agreement to enable library users in those states to borrow materials from member libraries of both systems. MOBIUS and Prospector use Innovative's INN-Reach consortial borrowing system to power their resource sharing.

The new agreement, signed in early 2014 for launch later this year, establishes a peer-to-peer relationship between the two systems. Users will be able to quickly and easily expand their searches and materials requests to libraries in the neighboring state. MOBIUS and Prospector have coordinated courier services for transportation of materials to meet user requests between the states.

"We are very excited to be partnering with Prospector," says Donna Bacon, Executive Director of MOBIUS. "With a click of a mouse our users will have access to twice as many materials as before. Resource sharing between our two consortia will enable our libraries to save even more money by allowing users to search and request from an even larger set of resources. The more our combined members use this new service and the less they rely on traditional ILL, the more money they will save. Quite frankly, it's a no-brainer. We are looking forward to even more collaboration with Prospector in the future."

George Machovec, Executive Director of Prospector, says "We are excited that the MOBIUS/Prospector partnership will provide patrons with greater access to materials in a multi-state region. This system builds on the commitment of libraries to provide the very best materials to their patrons coupled with fast discovery and delivery."
