Job Summary

Job Description: The Youth Services Consultant (YSC) provides leadership in the development and improvement of library services to children, teens and their families. Through the YSC position, the Missouri State Library/Library Development offers a coordinated approach to improving children, teen, and family library services through workshops and trainings sessions for library staff; statewide projects; and grant support on assigned programs. For a complete job description, go to https://sosmo.applicantpro.com/jobs/1325931.html.

Salary Range: $3,489.00 - $3,825.00 monthly

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Applied knowledge of library services, particularly for public library service in general and services for children, teens, and families in particular; ability to design continuing education opportunities for library staff serving the target audience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; outstanding ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; and strong ability to lead and work within a team.

Qualifications: A Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program and a minimum of two years of experience working with youth in a responsible, professional public library position is highly preferred. An alternative Master's degree in combination with relevant work experience will be considered.  Experience in providing training and continuing education in a variety of formats is preferred.
