Job Summary

Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) invites applicants for the tenure-track position of Systems Librarian in the George A. Spiva Library.  Candidates should be innovative and service-oriented professionals and provide leadership and direction for systems; collaborate with library coworkers and campus faculty and staff to ensure electronic access to library e-resources and services; ensure databases and e-resource integrity; manage, support and ensure integrity of the library’s shared integrated library system (Sierra); manage and support electronic resource management system (Intota); manage and support SpringShare platforms (LibAnswers, LibApps, LibCal, LibGuides, LibWizard); reviews and recommends new workflows as technologies change.  Hire, train, superise and evaluate student employees in Emerging Technologies  and Systems Department.  Train library staff (students employees, library staff and faculty) in new technologies and e-resources.  Compiles statistical data, and works with MOBIUS personnel to comply with consortial standards.  Uses metadata and specialized software, including Innovative Interfaces Inc. software and Summon, to incorporate content. 

An earned MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution and a minimum of two years professional library experience.  This is a 12-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor
