Job Summary

Rockhurst University seeks a part-time Research Services Assistant for the Greenlease Library of Rockhurst University. This position reports to the Research, Learning and Assessment Services Librarian and requires working 4 p.m. to midnight on assigned weekday evenings, additional hours on Saturday or Sunday each weekend plus occasional daytime hours. This individual must have a flexible schedule and substitute as needed for other Research Services Assistants.

Responsibilities include: provide reference assistance to students, faculty and staff; monitor evening/weekend student assistants with circulation functions; assist with interlibrary loan requests; monitor library operations; assigned special projects based on the Research, Learning and Assessment Services department’s needs.

Bachelor’s degree
Excellent listening, writing, speaking skills
Knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel.

Preferred previous experience includes academic library reference services; knowledge of integrated library systems, preferably Innovative Interfaces, social media management, basic web development, collaborative software, and cloud technology.
