Job Summary

The Adult Services Consultant (ASC) provides leadership in the development of adult library services, including literacy services, in libraries throughout Missouri.  Through the ASC position, the Missouri State Library/Library Development offers a coordinated approach to adult services by providing workshops and training sessions for library staff on a variety of topics; manages the State Library’s Continuing Education subgrant program; plans and coordinates statewide projects to improve library services for adults, particularly focused on literacy, workforce readiness, small business support, seniors, veterans, and other special populations; and consults on grant programs to expand and improve adult library services.

Qualifications:

A Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program and a minimum of two years of experience in a responsible, professional public library position is required. Experience in providing training and continuing education in a variety of formats is highly preferred. Experience in adult services programs is preferred.  As an alternative, a school library certification and Masters Degree in an appropriate education specialty will be considered. 

Position Type: Full-time

Salary:  $1,782.50 to $1,815 semimonthly
