Job Summary

The Missouri State University (MSU) Libraries seeks a Head of Special Collections and Archives. MSU is a dynamic and growing comprehensive university with over 24,000 students, located in Springfield, the third largest metro area in Missouri with a vibrant population of over 500,000. 

The Head of Special Collections and Archives provides leadership and oversight of all aspects of Special Collections and Archives. Specific responsibilities include the acquisition, curation, and development of physical and digital archival collections and services; development and operation of the Libraries’ digitization lab; promoting awareness and use of the collections; and contact with established and potential donors. In addition to the head, the Special Collections and Archives unit consists of four full-time and two part-time employees. Major collections include material related to Ozarkiana, Ozarks labor unions, transportation, University archives, and over 4,000 books. 

This is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position with a competitive salary and benefits.
