Job Summary

The Missouri State University (MSU) Libraries seeks a new Head of Content Management and Acquisitions (CM&A).  MSU is a dynamic and growing comprehensive university with over 24,000 students, located in Springfield, the third largest metro area in Missouri with a vibrant population of over 500,000.

The Head of CM&A provides leadership in selecting and acquiring (via lease, purchase, gift, or other means) information of all types -- physical and digital, vended and non-vended -- for use by university faculty, students, and staff, as well as members of the general public. Specific responsibilities include managing a content budget of $2.4 million, in consultation with faculty, leading the implementation of new, comprehensive content management strategies, managing the CM&A unit within the MSU Libraries, assessing demand for content, and working with consortial partners (e.g., MOBIUS and SWAN) and other organizations on collaborative content management initiatives. Responsibilities also include leading and managing acquisitions activities including purchasing, licensing, and negotiating contracts for library content, and facilitating accessing to licensed content, all in a consortial environment, serials maintenance and binding/mending materials.

This is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position with a competitive salary and benefits.
