Part-Time Reference Librarian

Fontbonne University has a position open for a part-time, evening and weekend reference librarian.   Responsible for general reference duties, including, but not limited to:

·         Provide reference assistance to students, faculty and staff

·         Develop and maintain LibGuides and other resource materials

·         Provide Library tours and instruction sessions

·         Provide circulation support

·         Troubleshoot Microsoft Office software applications

·         Maintain and troubleshoot technology equipment

Expected to take initiative, demonstrate independent judgment, accept responsibility, function as a team player, and positively represent the Jack C. Taylor Library at Fontbonne University.

 

Requirements:   ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS as of July 1, 2021, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Successful candidates must pass background check.

Preferred:  Strong reference background, extensive knowledge of print and electronic research tools, experience in library instruction, and experience working with a diverse population.

 

Flexible schedule includes one or two evenings per week and one or two Sundays per month. Hours are Mondays-Thursdays (5-8 p.m.), Sundays (3-8 p.m.). $20.50 per hour.
