Job Summary

The Missouri State University (MSU) Libraries seek an experienced, user-centered, visionary leader with extensive knowledge of library public services, including best practices and latest trends in the evolving role of academic libraries. Through effective and efficient leadership, the successful candidate will plan, prioritize, implement, and evaluate public services and initiatives, establish policies and procedures, and coordinate operational activities related to public services of the MSU Libraries.    

The ability to foster a positive environment of effective communication and collaboration with organizational staff and faculty through a consultative team approach is required.

This is a full-time professional position, reporting to the Associate Dean of Libraries and supervising staff.

MSU is a dynamic and growing comprehensive university with an enrollment of over 24,000 students and is located in Springfield, the third largest metro area in Missouri, with a vibrant population of approximately 169,000.
