Job Summary

Inman E. Page Library at Lincoln University seeks an innovative thinker with strong people skills to manage our Sierra Integrated Library System and collection. This position reports to the Director of Library Services. The successful candidate will possess strong skills to plan, develop, implement, grow and maintain the Inman E. Page collection both electronic and print by managing the collection development policies and procedures including the acquisition and cataloging of materials. The Resource Management Librarian will build excellent relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and students at the University as well as with peers at other institutions in regards to our Integrated Library System. This position will create policies, procedures, workflows and reports as needed. This position will also participate in library liaison services, reference, library instruction, and collection development.

Required qualifications:

  • Master of Library or Information Science degree from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Three years of professional experience working in library
  • Familiarity with best practices in library collection development and management
  • Knowledge of current cataloging and metadata standards and practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse community

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with current resource management issues
  • Experience working in an academic library.
  • Experience serving as MOBIUS Site Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Integrated Library software and user accounts and train others on it
  • Add/ maintain all catalog records for the library collections both electronic and print
  • Manage and troubleshoot access issues to library content with other library staff
  • Catalog library resources, increasing efficiency and integrating acquisitions and cataloging workflows, as appropriate.
  • Chair Collection Development Committee and manage collections databases and related statistical information
  • Perform reference service, library instruction and collection development
  • Serve as library liaison to designated departments
  • Teach Library Science Minor program
  • Actively develop and apply expertise with emerging technologies in support of areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Some weekend work required
