Charge:
The MERLIN Acquisitions/Serials Control Committee consists of members of the serials and acquisitions staff of the MERLIN libraries, each having been appointed by the director of her or his library. This committee:
- Reviews III software and enhancements related to the Innovative “ordering and receiving subsystem” and makes recommendations to LSO or other MERLIN committees as necessary. Raises questions of functionality with III software when appropriate.
- Discusses issues relevant to the MASCC and matters referred from other MERLIN committees as necessary.
- Determines such topics as standards for inputting, editing, and sharing bibliographic records to which order and/or checkin records are attached, and formatting for unsuppressed checkin records.
- Serves as a resource for committee members for information sharing through formal meetings as well as within the MACQ-L discussion list. Committee members act as a communication channel between LSO/MCO staff and personnel at individual libraries.
