Detailed description: 
Job Functions and/or General Duties •Works as a part of the support staff team to provide technical and project support to the Library Development Division. ◦Provides high quality customer support to libraries and the public. ◦Prioritizes assignments and completes duties to meet deadlines and to ensure quality work. •Assists Missouri Digital Heritage staff with collections support: ◦Proofs and corrects transcripts of digital texts ◦Assists with checking and correcting metadata to improve search results of collections ◦Uses CONTENTdm and available software to make corrections to texts and metadata. •Assists Technology Consultant, CE Consultant and other staff with support of Library Development websites: ◦Assists in maintaining Library Development Division web pages. Handles transmitting basic web update requests to IT division. ◦Assists in maintaining WebJunction Missouri web pages, completing basic text changes and document uploads for staff. Maintains calendar of workshop events for site. ◦Assists in maintaining Missouri Center for the Book web pages, focusing on the Missouri Authors database. ◦Develops fillable pdf or other forms for posting to websites. •Provides assistance for Library Databases: ◦Provides data entry and updates to maintain contact information, grant program records, and mailing lists in the MOLLI program. Conducts tests to ensure software is operating properly prior to upload of modifications by SOS IT staff. ◦Assists LSTA Coordinator and Statistical Research Analyst to provide support for grant programs including compiling data for program benchmarks. Uses spreadsheet and database software to track data for programs and generate reports as needed. •Workshop Support: ◦Provides support for technology workshops. Schedule available trainers or presenters with libraries; transport equipment to locations; set up and test equipment; clean, check, charge and store devices after each workshop. ◦Assists consultants with general support for workshops, as assigned. •General Division support: ◦Maintains newsletter distribution lists, prepare and transmit Division newsletters by email. ◦Provides backup support as needed in preparing photocopies, answering the telephone, and completing mailings. ◦Assists with special projects, staff committees, and performs related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications: 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities •Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing. •Advanced keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and computer navigation skills. •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Access. •Working knowledge of basic Internet searching •Basic working knowledge of content management and website maintenance concepts •Knowledge of the digitization process, metadata creation, OCR and transcription •Basic understanding of database structure and indexing •Ability to work as member of a team, •Ability to learn new processes and new software applications quickly. •Ability to apply systematic and detailed multi-step procedures to assignments. •Ability to check own work for accuracy. •Ability to manage several assignments simultaneously, manage work time and processes effectively in order to meet deadlines. •Ability to follow directions and create documentation for processes •Basic skills with standard office equipment including copiers, printers, and fax machines. •Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. •Ability to sit at a desk 2 to 4 hours at a time. •Ability to travel to support projects. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is required. Two years of education at an accredited college, including classes in computer software, is preferred. Two years of work experience in an appropriate position.
